WebSystem [ESC] -> Character Configuration -> Control Settings -> Target. Under "Target Type: Target Closest Enemies" you're gonna wanna set it to "Type 2: Cone". This makes it work more like WoW instead of doing the goofy left to right thing. IMO it's night and day, I found tab targeting borderline unusable before changing this. WebOn ps4/5 just hold L2 and hit R1 to target the closet enemy to you. You can keep tapping R1 to cycle to the next closest etc if that's not the target you want or use left/right to switch to a specific target you want to focus.
