I'm Terry Gross. Today we're going to remember a great journalist, David Halberstam. He died Web2 Aug 2012 · He received his doctorate in philosophy from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, in 1923, and won the Cardinal Mercier Prize for International Philosophy, given once each decade. He then taught at The Catholic University of America from 1926 to 1950. He was a force of nature.
